Office Birthday, Leaving Party, Team Brunch: Who Takes Care of What?

Office Birthday, Leaving Party, Team Brunch: Who Takes Care of What?

An office birthday, a leaving party, a team brunch: simple moments, yet often the ones people remember most. The trouble is that organising them almost always lands on one person, squeezed between two meetings. Here is how to share the roles so that everyone enjoys the break, including the person who organised it.

The personalised cake: that is our job

It is our speciality, and it is also the heart of the moment. A cake with the company logo to close a project, a cake with a first name and a photo for a colleague's birthday, a tiered cake for a retirement: every cake is made in our workshop and decorated by hand to match your theme. Send us a logo, an idea or a colour, and we take care of the rest.

One simple tip for an office crowd: pick a flavour everyone agrees on. Vanilla and red berries, rich chocolate or lemon meringue always win the vote. If someone on the team has an allergy or an intolerance, tell us when you order: we offer gluten-free, egg-free and lactose-free versions, so nobody feels left out.

How many portions should you plan?

At the office everyone wants a taste, but not everyone finishes the plate. Count one portion per person, then add a small margin for the sweet-toothed and for colleagues passing by. In practice:

  • Up to 12 people: a classic round cake is enough.
  • 15 to 30 people: a tiered cake or a generous number cake.
  • More than 30 people: a tiered showpiece, or several cakes spread across the tables.
  • Teams on several sites or in an open-plan office: logo cupcakes, easy to hand out without a knife or a plate.

When in doubt, plan slightly larger: leftover cake never lasts long at the office.

Delivery to the office

We deliver all over France, straight to the company address, in the time slot you choose. To make sure the day goes smoothly, give us the name and phone number of the person who will receive the cake, plus the floor or department: our drivers do not know your building's codes. Then keep a spot free in the fridge, and take the cake out about thirty minutes before serving so that it reveals all its flavours.

A timeline without cold sweats

You can order up to 24 hours before delivery, and we do it every day for forgotten birthdays. But the earlier you order, the more detailed the decoration can be, and the more certain the date. A timeline that works well:

  • D-7: you confirm the date, the number of guests and the cake theme.
  • D-3: you confirm the final headcount and the delivery address.
  • D-1: you let reception know that a delivery is coming.
  • D-day: candles, knife, plates and napkins are ready before the guest of honour arrives.

Who takes care of what?

  • The organiser: the date, the number of portions, the cake order.
  • The accomplice colleague: the collection, the card signed by the team, the candles.
  • Reception: receiving the delivery and putting it in the fridge.
  • Us: the personalised cake, its decoration and its on-time delivery.

What about savoury food, drinks and lunch boxes?

A cake makes the party, but a team brunch or a leaving party that stretches into lunch also calls for savoury food and something to toast with. For the savoury buffet, breakfasts and lunch boxes delivered to the office, we refer our corporate clients to Crozy, a corporate caterer in Paris. A good habit: book both deliveries for the same time slot and the same number of guests, and the buffet is set up in one go.

A rhythm for the whole year

The teams that do these moments best have written them into their calendar: one shared cake for the month's birthdays, a small gesture for every arrival and every departure, a brunch to celebrate the end of a big project. At the end of the year, also think about Christmas treats and gourmet gift boxes for the teams, a sweet way to close the year before the holidays.

You have the date, the number of portions and an idea for the decoration? All that is left is to write to us. Discover our personalised corporate cakes and leave the sweet side of your next team moment to us.
