3 Easy Cookie Recipes

3 Easy Cookie Recipes

Cookies originate from the United States and have become a much-loved biscuit in Europe. Mainly consumed as a snack, they have won the hearts of both young and old. Chocolate chips remain one of the key ingredients, but nowadays there are variations like nuts, dried fruits, smarties, and fresh fruits.

3 Cookie Recipes for Beginners

This biscuit is very easy and quick to make unlike macarons, but you need a good hand to succeed. The following recipes are suitable for children's workshops and beginners at home.

Classic and Easy Cookie Recipe

Classic cookies are made with flour, chocolate chips, eggs, and butter. For 4 people, here are the ingredients:

  • 100 g of chocolate chips or chopped chocolate
  • 1 egg
  • 150 g of flour
  • 85 g of soft butter
  • 1 vanilla pod or 1 sachet of vanilla sugar
  • 85 g of sugar or powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp of baking powder

Preheat the oven to 180°C. Mix the sugar, egg, and butter in a bowl. Add the vanilla and baking powder. Gradually add the flour to obtain a smooth mixture. Then add the chocolate and mix slightly. Take a baking sheet and cover it with baking paper. Form small mounds of cookie dough. Bake for about 10 minutes. When the cookies start to colour, you can remove them from the oven.

Quick Cookie Recipe with Thermomix

For those who use the Thermomix in their kitchen, here is an ultra-quick and very easy recipe to make American-style cookies. The ingredients are the same as in the paragraph above. For preparation and baking, here are the steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 150°C
  • Mix the butter and sugar with the Thermomix at speed 3 for 1 min and 30s
  • Add the egg and vanilla to the previous mixture and mix at speed 4 for 30s
  • Then add the dry ingredients: chocolate chips, baking powder, flour, and a pinch of salt. Mix everything by reversing the Thermomix rotation at speed 3 for 45s
  • On the baking paper, line up small raw cookies and bake for about twenty minutes

Easy and Soft Cookie Recipe

Soft cookies are also called American-style. To succeed, replace sugar or icing sugar with brown sugar. The second tip will be revealed during preparation. The first step is to mix the soft sugar and brown sugar while adding the whole egg. Then incorporate the rest of the ingredients including the chocolate. The rest of the preparation is slightly different from the other two and this is what will make the cookies very soft.

Once everything is mixed, work the dough for a few minutes. With your hands, form a cylinder of 5cm in diameter with the dough and refrigerate for one to two hours. Then cut the roll into 1cm thick slices and bake in the preheated oven at 180°C for 10 minutes. Don't forget to put baking paper on the tray.

Some Tips for Successful Cookies

Cookies are certainly easy to make, but if you miss a step, you won't get the desired crunchy and soft biscuit. These few tips will help you perfect your technique.

1-The butter must be soft. Take it out of the refrigerator half an hour before preparation.

2-To make successful cookies, weigh the ingredients.

3-Brown sugar is a better choice than refined sugar

4-It's even better if you keep the dough ball in the fridge overnight

5-Form a ball or mound and do not flatten, as the cookies will spread during baking

6-Leave space between two cookies

Cookies without Butter, Sugar, Eggs... What are the Alternatives?

Like all biscuits, birthday cakes, wedding cakes and all kinds of pastries, cookies also undergo a makeover. While we love the classic soft chocolate chip version, it's just as good to try fruity, healthy, light recipes. What options are there?

Without Butter

To lighten or for those who can't digest butter, use oil. Otherwise, it's possible to use neither butter nor oil. In this case, replace this fat with fresh fromage blanc. Soft butter brings softness and helps the biscuit rise. By replacing it with cheese, you'll have some softness, but not much volume.

Without Flour

The most commonly used flour is wheat flour. It allows the preparation to bind and be elastic. To replace wheat, use rice flour, peanut butter, or oatmeal.

Without Eggs

The role of the whole egg in a biscuit is to provide softness and act as a binder. The ingredient that can replace it is milk. Otherwise, you can simply use all the ingredients without the eggs. In any case, flour and butter are enough to bind everything. The trick is to add almond powder.

Without Chocolate

What is a cookie without chocolate? Well, it's a new generation cookie. In fact, you can make any combination you want. This can range from plain cookies to Nutella cookies, including those with apples, raisins, other dried fruits, almonds, hazelnuts, pecans, cashews, candied fruits, frozen fruits, and so on. The goal is to have crunchy, soft, indulgent, and very good cookies.
