Christmas Cookies, the Best Recipe!

Christmas Cookies, the Best Recipe!

Christmas is approaching, we are only a month away from the much-anticipated 25th of December!

Young and old alike are eager to start the preparations. You've already taken out the tree decorations, the gift list is ready, and the organization of this very special day is planned well in advance.

For many of us, it's also an opportunity to reunite with loved ones and share a moment of joy and love.

But... what would Christmas be without its famous Christmas cookies? Their crunchy, spicy flavours so characteristic of this time, we never tire of them!

And since the recipe is very simple, why not indulge?!

We have chosen to share with you THE Christmas cookie recipe, foolproof and memorable, that you'll bring out every year to fill your home with these delicious aromas. Ready, set, bake!

Ingredients List:

-        100 g of flour

-        75 g of almond powder

-        90 g of brown sugar

-        60 g of butter

-        1 tablespoon of honey

-        2 tablespoons of milk

-        1 teaspoon of spice (cinnamon, mixed spice, ginger)

-        100 g of icing sugar

-        1 egg white

Recipe Instructions:

1)     In a bowl, mix the flour and almond powder with the butter previously cut into pieces.

2)    Knead until all the butter is well incorporated.

3)    Add the sugar (brown sugar) and the spices of your choice. Mix well.

4)    Finally, add the honey and milk then mix again. The dough obtained should be homogeneous and smooth.

5)    Place your bowl in the fridge for about 1 hour.

6)    Once the resting time is over, take the dough out of the fridge and roll it out to a thickness of a few millimetres (4 or 5mm).

7)    Using cookie cutters in the shape of your choice: you can use stars, hearts, moons, mini Santa Clauses or Angels, whatever you like. Cut the dough into several shapes.

8)    Place them one by one on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

9)    Repeat until all the dough is used up.

10)  Then place all your cookies in the freezer for about 10 to 15 minutes.

11)  After this time in the freezer, bake your tray in a preheated oven at 180 degrees for about 10 minutes.

12)  Take your cookies out and let them cool completely on a rack.

13)  Meanwhile, prepare your icing by mixing your icing sugar with half an egg white. The icing should be smooth and shiny.

14)   Using a piping bag, decorate your little cookies with the icing.

You can also colour the icing to add some colour to your cookies.

They will keep perfectly for several days in an airtight container, but we're not sure the gourmets will wait several days!
